The main assumption in this course is that leadership is closely related to your ability to communicate. Now, in order to have a lasting impact on the people, you should be able to genuinely connect with them. This means that you should have high emotional intelligence. This course will help you enhance your emotional intelligence, boost your confidence while communicating, and take your leadership skills to the next level. It consists of four main units: 

  1. Leadership in the 21st century: What is it and what is it not?, here we’re going to follow Adam Grant’s advice and rethink, in our case we we’ll rethink what leadership is in the 21st century context, taking on board Brene Brown’s urge to consider vulnerability in leadership among other qualities, similarly we’ll look at what mindset will contribute to successful leadership; 
  2. The role of emotional intelligence, here we’ll look at what Daniel Goleman suggests regarding the way emotional intelligence impacts leadership, in addition, we’ll see how managing one’s emotions enhances charisma and ; 
  3. Characteristics of the communication process, here we’ll try to understand what communication actually involves, and what the optimal way of interacting could be; 
  4. Communication for success, here we’ll look at ways to become more confident and charismatic while conveying our communicative intentions.
